I've started getting checks that I wasn't expecting. They were sent to unclaimed properties and I was contacted by them. I've contacted the oil company and they are still sending checks. One question is, on the checks, its says My Name, Separate Property, what does separate property mean? This is in Louisiana and company is Wildhorse. I have been trying to contact them to find out if money was coming from old land I had or possibly an heir, I just don't know. I wasn't expecting anything from an heir but its impossible to get in touch and communicate with them.

I inboxed you Two Dogs

He must have died testate or the property would have gone to your Dad and his other siblings.

Where did he live when he passed away?  The Parish that he lived in would have the Succession.

He lived in Caddo parish when he died, lived most of his golden years in Leesville, La. Moved to Shreveport about 5 years before he died.

Check your inbox

I saw where you said you were gonna check it for me, thanks. Did you try and send something else?

Not sure why I can't read it. Last message I have in my inbox from you is "I have online access to Caddo Parish Clerk of Court records. I will check it out for you." Could I just call Vernon Parish and find out I wonder?

Check again, I just copied the post.

I figured out where you messages were coming from. Sorry, new to site. Sent you a reply

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.

This area has suffered immense environmental degradation…
