I know there is a simple answer but I must ask, why is there 12 applications for a permit on this one section? Thanks

6 HA wells and 6 CV or Bossier or HOSS? Maybe.
billy, the simple answer is, there are not 12 well permits for Section 34, there are surface locations for 17 horizontal wells in Section 34. Keep in mind two things, SONRIS lists wells by the section in which the well pad is located and that horizontal wells are quite often drilled from one section into another to create the longest lateral length allowed under LOC regulations. In the case of Section 34, there are 8 wells permitted for Section 27 to the north, 1 for Section 3 - 13N - 11W to the south and 8 for Section 34.
Billy, the count is now up to 19 Haynesville/Bossier Shale wells with a surface location in Section 34. I have the breakdown below. Seventeen (17) of those wells are being drilled from three (3) surface pads (5, 6 & 6 wells) with 10 wells drilled into Section 27. The spacing in Section 27 would indicate these are a mix of Haynesville Shale and Bossier Shale wells.:
