Curious if anyone has had experience dealing with a proposed "short section"? Just got an ALT well notice that Vine is asking for CUL's that only take in half of our section. I suspect that the east / west lateral that Encana drilled in the same section has something to do with this. Thanks.

A lot of CUL's include less than a full section.  IMO well designs are often based on the perceived optimal lateral length and existing surface locations.  The state approved production allocation formula does not mandate a minimum linear perforated lateral length in a section.
