Skip,
Thanks for all that you do for those of us who are clueless. I won't be clueless for long!!
I agree with Linda. This a great Shale site. Thanks to all who share their knowledge.
All thanks to Keith. And on that note, congratulations to him on GHS's 12,500th. member. I would respectfully suggest to all the members that the beginning of a new year is a good time to make a donation to GHS. Good Luck to all in 2010!

Or point to "Supporters" at the top of the Main Page and select "Support GHS".

I'm headed there now to make my 2010 donation.
Skip, What happened to the unit application by Petrohawk for Sec 20-T7N-R11W? Les B posted a discussion about it back in early Dec. but it never made an appearance on your map. Just wondering if there was a problem with the application?

Jffree, a notation on Sonris says Petrohawk withdrew the application. I reckon I will have to delete the topic but I am somewhat mystified by Petrohawk's actions on this.
Well, that explains why it never showed on the map. Let us know if you hear what happened.
Skip,
Can you tell us what is meant by waiting for State Potential?

Thanks!
Linda, each new well is flow tested and the information (flow rate, flowing pressure, choke size, etc) is filed with the State in a "Louisiana State Potential Report". This initial test is witnessed by a State representative and the information is used to set the maximum allowable flow rate. "Waiting for State Potential" would just mean the operator is waiting for the completion of this process.
Les,
Thank you very much your help!
Les B,
Does Texas have a similar procedure?? {"Potential Report"]
Thanks

A friend in northern Sabine called to say that he received notification today of intent to apply for three new units:
s8 t8 r11w, s28 t12n r12w, and s29 t12n r12w. Letter notice was dated 1/07/10. Are these included in this map?
Martin. No. Your friend is referring to a pre-application notice letter which is required to be sent to all individuals or companies on the Interested Party list (those in the proposed unit or within 1000'). The totals on the Snapshot Township Grid are for units previously granted and those on the public hearing schedule. If no one on the Interested Party list requests a local hearing or after a local hearing is held, the application will be added to the Commissioner's schedule for the final hearing in Baton Rouge. At that point, I add the sections to the total for each township. Do you know which company sent the notice letter to your friend?
