It has occured to me that the Texas Legislature should take a look at revising the "rules of capture", due to the fact that one of these horizontal rigs can drill down a few thousand feet and horizontally drill a mile or two over and steal petroleum that they have no mineral rights!

Mr. Wist's mineral interest would be in close proximity to the unincorporated village of Uncertain, TX.  A sleepy little ville on the most picturesque portion of Caddo Lake and not far from Karnack, TX.  It is a special place inhabited by special people.  After Sam Vaughn died things became more quiet.  His restaurant closed and that shallow and protected part of the lake became infested with Salvinia, a particularly noxious aquatic plant.  Cold weather this winter knocked some of it back and it is well worth a visit but I fear for the long term health of the place.  I drive through every time I dine at my favorite catfish restaurant, Big Pine Lodge.  Well worth the road trip from Shreveport.

Mr. Peel, my ancestors were the Hopes who settled there in 1840.BTW, Shady Glade is a much better restaurant!

And it is open.  Or at least it was several months ago.  Sounds like your family arrived not long after the Scotts.  The Scottsville cemetery is one of my favorite stops along with the T. C. Lindsey store in Jonesville.

Mr. Peel, if you are a landman please call me at 636 294 6132 or give me your number. Thanks!

Mr. Wist, when calling your number I get a recording that says your number is not accepting calls at this time.  It is against GoHaynesvilleShale policy to post phone numbers in open discussion threads but it is not a big deal so don't worry.  If you send me a "friend request", I will approve it and then you will have access to my private page.  You can get my email address there.  Although I certainly do not mind speaking with members by phone, I prefer email as that relieves me from keeping notes and files.

Just click on my name in blue.

Roger! Mr. Peel I have no idea how to add you as a friend...could you help me out?

Mr. Peel, 636 294 6132!
