Have been trying to follow up with Thunderbird as have not rec'ed the January royalty check. Have called 3 different numbers for them and get the same message "disconnected or not in service"
Skip, you seem to be on top of what is going on and I'm wondering if you have any info or if anybody else has any info.
The Texas RRC reported they rec'ed the Nov. production report which is what the January royalty payment would have been based upon.
Thanks for any information.

Kathy, good to hear from you again. I had sent you an email before posting this but it bounced back because of bad address.I did contack East Texas Exploration but the number they had for Thunderbird was also disconnected.
It would be good if Covey Park bought some of the wells as they have been active in exploration and redrilling.
If you hear anything, please let me know.
Thank you,

I suggest you ask Julie, jffree1.
Thanks Skip , I'll start new discussion to Julie and jfffree1'
Very good. Julie is jffree1. I suggest you friend her.
Bob, no need to start a new discussion. I know Tbird submitted all of their production reports for November. These are the phone numbers on record at RRC: (405) 600-0711 or (800) 955-1569. I don't know anything else but I would not be surprised to learn that the rumors had some truth to them. If they are in the middle of an ownership transition then there might be a delay while that is happening.
Just FYI: Thunderbird is GMX. See GMX Resources reorganizes as 2 companies
I pulled production numbers (HA only) for them just after the 15th, this month. Now, when I enter their operator #... I get no results. I can look up the wells individually and they still show Tbird as operator but I would, once again, not be surprised that some or all of those wells are in transition to a new operator. I say give it another week and then remind me and I'll check again to see if RRC has changed operator on your well. You'll need to give me the lease No.

JF, thanks for info. I went thru the breakup/bankruptcy of GMX.
Prior to filing they sold off oll of their Cotton Valley wells to East Texas Exploration.
Somehow put the Haynesville wells in a separate company, Thunderbird Resources LP, and continued to make royalty payments on the Haynesville wells while moving up into the Bakken and this probably was a costly mistake.
I hope a sale is in the works because from previous info from them there is a lot of undrilled locations in Harrison County that can be drilled.
I will hold off and see what happens in the next few weeks. Also, the 1099's are due.
Thank you for getting back to me so quickly.

Thanks to all that replied to my post on Thunderbird Resources LP.
Rec'd 1099 today along with a notice from Thunderbird advising a delay in all January royalty checks due to an "unforeseen software issue". further stated hope to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.
Noted, also that they had moved and were waiting for the service provider to transfer the telephone services.
Thanks to all that were giving me feedback.

Shale drilling and lithium extraction are seemingly distinct activities, but there is a growing connection between the two as the world moves towards cleaner energy solutions. While shale drilling primarily targets…

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
