How close may a gas/oil well be placed to the Kechatchie National Forest?
Jennifer...
I am unaware of any set back requirement for a well site from a National Forest boundary line. The State of LA. mandates setbacks for wells from inhabited and uninhabited structures. It also mandates that perforations in lateral well bores may be no closer than 330' from a unit boundary.
Thank you.
Is there any single publication that gives definitions, terms, rules, etc., for oil and gas wells/leasing? I am not looking for a treatise but I would like to become familiar with the basics.

Thanks, back to school!

Jennifer - Have you tried the Quick Links in the upper left corner of the GHS Main page?

http://www.gohaynesvilleshale.com/page/haynesville-shale-info

This is also a good cross reference when needed for clarification...

I found those links after I had posted my question; they do help.
Thanks, Jennifer...
Is there a location on the internet to view bySection, latitude, long. of Sabine Parish in toto?
Thanks, Jennifer...
Jennifer - You might get more attention & help with that in the SONRIS group where one of the "professors" would probably be more than glad to help. lol Also, at the top of this page, look under the "News & Info" tab for either the "ShaleBrary" or the "Haynesville Shale Info" links to see if what you're looking for might be there.

hope this helps - 80)
Thanks, JL...
