What does it mean when my WELL NUMBER is 241171 but listed on DIVISION ORDERS

and QUARTERLY STATEMENT as 631289 ?

The serial number assigned to your well by the Louisiana State Department of Natural Resources, Office of Conservation is 241171.  The company that operates your well assigns it's own well number (631289) for the purpose of tracking production and paying royalties.  Since most energy companies operate in multiple states it would be a problem to use a state serial number for internal accounting purposes.
