Which Basin is Chesapeake Going to sell? Marcellus, Utica, or Haynesville?

Chesapeake has all but said at least one of these is going on the auction block.

Thanks, HB.  CHK opened Pandora's Box (creative means to disadvantage mineral lessors and pad their bottom line) long ago.  By this time it hardly matters what they divest and what they hold on to, the damage is largely done.  CHK has transitioned to simply settling most Haynesville Louisiana related litigation instead of seeking their day in court.

Let's not forget the Marcellus and Utica are infrastructure challenged.  

Not forgetting, gary.  The pipeline capacity connecting the Marcellus to the Gulf Coast market has been in the works for some time and should come on line in the second half of this year and first half of next.  David Braziel of RBN Energy gave a detailed presentation of new pipeline capacity and timing at the DUG Haynesville conference in February.  Here is an excerpt which will summarize much of his research.  You can print them out is you get dizzy looking at them sideways.  :-)

Impressive.  This may create the desire for HA focused companies to trade operated units in order to line up north/south groups of 3.  Outside of CHK, there are not many 3 stacks in LA.
