It is normal, Jan. There has been a considerable wait for a pumping crew to frack all the wells now in queue in a three or four county area. I don't think anyone is in an enormous hurry to complete the wells, either, with the price of gas so low.
I would love to be down there to see things first hand but this website is the next best thing. Folks have been so generous with their time and expertise. Sounds like right now there's not much going on so hopefully when we come down next year there will be more going on and we can further our education. :)
In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of) nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
This area has suffered immense environmental degradation…
