Just heard the Brown family, signed a $700 an acre lease close to or across parish line. Anyone heard or know anything about this area?

If that is true, that is twice the highest amount of any lease so far in this area. $350 was the highest we have ever seen ...and that was in southeast avoyelles.

Permalink Reply by charles gaiennie on The location would be a little south and almost due east of Chenneyville at the parish line with Avoyelles. I think I posted my lease in 230 acs Rapides Sec 2 1N 1 W for $300 @1/4.
In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of) nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
This area has suffered immense environmental degradation…
