Just heard the Brown family, signed a $700 an acre lease close to or across parish line.  Anyone heard or know anything about this area?

Is that in the Bunkie-Cheneyville area?

If that is true, that is twice the highest amount of any lease so far in this area. $350 was the highest we have ever seen ...and that was in southeast avoyelles.

Thanks for the info, let us know if you get more info. I am south of that in T2S-R3E, leased shallow rights for $275 in spring this year but since I still have the deeper rights its good info to know.

The location would be a little south and almost due east of Chenneyville at the parish line with Avoyelles.  I think I posted my lease in 230 acs Rapides Sec 2 1N 1 W for $300 @1/4.

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
