Permalink Reply by Ted Ward on Thursday in regard to well #255420 just east of saline:
the previous scout report !-6 to 1-12 drilling was halted between 12,700 and 12,800 to cement a liner in. The latest scout report has MD at over 14,000. Can one assume that gas was detected in that zone? Not spending money yet but keeping fingers crossed.
Permalink Reply by Rock Man on Friday If you mean where they ran liner, odds are this is a casing point based on a change in bottom hole pressure / done to keep from losing the wellbore.
Permalink Reply by Dale Walton on Friday This well is a step out for LCV. I don’t think the pilot hole went deep enough to see HA so it is probably a LCV horizontal test. The operator in question is known for shenanigans so there is that.
Permalink Reply by Ted Ward on Friday Never felt very good about this bunch. I did a A I search on them and ask how many gas wells have they completed. Answer was no public record on any. Oh well I’ll just start playing power ball. Thanks for the information.
Permalink Reply by Skip Peel - Mineral Consultant on Friday Areana Minerals is not listed as a recognized Louisiana well operator. Well serial number 255420 is shown as Magnetar as the operator.
Permalink Reply by Ted Ward on Friday Magnetar Operating LLC is who i looked up on A I who have no public record on gas well completions. My brother received a phone call from a guy who wanted to buy mineral rights for $1,400 per acre..and claimed Magnetar is 0 for 5 on gas wells. A wise man once said seller beware on Gohaynesvillshale so we are going to hang in there and see happens in a month or so. Thanks for all the replies.
Permalink Reply by Skip Peel - Mineral Consultant on Friday Wise decision, Ted. Magnetar Operating has no Louisiana wells as per SONRIS so this is their first well in the state. The company is registered with the LA Secretary of State.

Permalink Reply by Skip Peel - Mineral Consultant on Friday Good idea.
Permalink Reply by Ted Ward on Friday I would feel better about this if one of the big boys up there were drilling it. These guys are new kids on block so i just hope they know what they are doing. My Mom and Dad would rise up from their graves and spank my rear end if i sold those rights. As of monday they were past 14,000 feet so we will know shortly, unless the whole world freezes up there. As always thanks for your imput .

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near…

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
