Does anybody have info on the Frierson area?

I'm in Frierson. Winchester has been drilling all over Frierson for at least 2 years now, so there is a lot of acreage already leased. I assume since you're asking, that you aren't leased, but it's just that I know that in my immediate area, most of the people signed leases a year or more ago. What is your section-township-range? There's a new well going in off Wallace lake Road, I forget the section, but it is in T15N, R13W.
Hey Rita,

I am pretty sure it is section 15. I saw the drilling sign Sunday evening when I was over on Los Adais. I will check, I used to live on Old Wallace Lake Road 15 years ago.
I was wrong, it is Sec. 16 and a J & W well. J & W leased a good deal of land around that area about 10 years ago. They just went back and leased for the Haynesville depths on the landowners that had a Pugh Clause in the prior leases.

It is sad but one lady owns about120 acres in Sec. 15 just leased to J & W in March or April for $650.00 per acre. She is in her 70s, her husband passed away about 10 years ago and she has had to begin selling off her land to help pay the bills. The lease prices now sure would have helped her situation out and saved the "family farm".
I am in T15N, R13W
Since most of the land around me is leased already, does this mean I won't be able to get a lease?
No, not necessarily. I have had Petrohawk tell me that they are interested, but that they were backed up and couldn't get to me for a few weeks. I only have 2 acres, though, so I'm not of great importance to anyone. What I was doing in pointing this out is to caution you that one reason you may not be hearing from companies is because there are wells in many of the sections. There's one section I know of that is held by production since sometime in 2000 or 2001. Also, as pointed out in the earlier comment, above, drilling is just now taking place in Section 16, so if you're not leased and happen to be there, you may want to contact J-W. Do you know whether there is any production in your section?
I'm not sure; my deed mentions section 27 & 28 and T 15N R 13W. I am right by the well that blew out in December.
Are you sure you own mineral rights? I'm aware of one landowner near the Denmon well who does not own the mineral rights. This is someone that lives on Thames Lane. The Louisiana Dept. Conservation website (known as Sonris) shows that there is a well producing in Sec. 27. It might be the case that you don't own the mineral rights.
Yes, I checked the property history at the courthouse. My legal from the tax office says section 28 the deed mentions 27 also
For the well that is being drilled in Section 16, what Township and Range? Do you know? Thanks.
Ladyoaks, the area we're discussing here is T15N, R13W.
I don't mean to sound like I'm interrogating you, I'm sorry, but you'd have to make sure that a prior owner didn't reserve the rights, also. How many acres do you have? If you do own the mineral rights, and never leased, then you are one of those unleased landowners who would be due your proportionate share of production at a 100% rate after the well expenses are paid. Do you know how to look up the well info on the Dept. of Conservation website (Sonris)?

I suppose the next step would be to speak to someone with the company, or to an attorney. You can get contact information about the company from the Sonris report.
