If it's Rowan #54 Rig, Chesapeake, McCoy 16 #H1 Well, Serial #240883, S16-T11N-R15W, it was just spud 3-5-10. Don't think they would be flaring gas this soon.
My brother lives just down the road from the rig and he watched them flaring the gas this past weekend. It was visible from a good distance.
Maybe they had a kick and had to flare until the mud was stabilized. I'm not a well hand but don't think flaring gas while drilling is a common practice.

Remember the telelphone booth ? !
