Hi,  Just looked on Sonris and saw those words on the Detail column of the Scout Info:

"Perf 16359-16701; FRAC; Drill Plugs, Set Packer"

Does that mean that they're plugging the well?

Seems odd that they'd FRAC it and then plug it.  Gas prices

seem to be on their way back up.  Info please. PATCO well 27. 13N. 12W

Thanks.

Sounds as though they are drilling the plugs out to allow flowback. The well will be producing after that.

I'm not up on shale completions but could this be a production packer or possibly a retrievable packer so they can have an independent barrier while changing the wellhead or something?

The Drill crew sets a concrete plug when they reach the desired depth, this means they have completed drilling.
Then a completion crew comes in, drills thru the plug and sets the packers, which are basically plugs with holes in them where the tubing is attached to retrieve the gas, or oil. ,they are just completing the well is all.
