I am in section 4 t12n r16w...what does this application mean for me?

jason. By state regulation, an application for unit status or unit wells must notice all mineral and surface interests in the affected area. Those within the unit boundaries and those that adjoin it to a distance of 1000'. I suspect that your Section 4 tract is within that 1000' requirement as your section is not included in the application. This application has no practical effect to you. Thanks for posting the pre-application notice letter and plat.

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
