I was looking on Desoto Records tonight & noticed that Encana just filed a list of owners for Sec.22. This well has been online a year. Why would Encana do that now. The show sections 21,22,23 sketched out.Can someone explain this and if Encana is getting ready to perhaps put more wells in that area. This area has a fault, hence the east west lateral in Sec. 21, so wondered if Encana is getting ready to make this a larger unit

kcm, Encana has filed the survey plat for HA RA SU91 which pertains only to Section 22 which encompasses the same boundary as the unit.  The survey was likely ordered in late 2009 when the well was completed and John Chance Land Surveys, Inc. finished the survey and submitted it to Encna in Dec. 2010.  Encana has now filed it in the public records of DeSoto Parish.  A survey plat for a unit shows all the tracts designated by number, the size of each tract in acres and the percentage of the unit acres that it represents.  A survey is conducted to assist in creating an accurate division order for the payment of royalties.  As for the time required to complete and submit the survey, only the survey company or Encana could address that question.  There are now over 2000 Haynesville units and more than 896 completed wells.  The survey has nothing to do with enlarging the unit and the percentage participation of each tract will be the same for all future unit wells whenever Encana may choose to drill them.
