Has anyone heard of a super super lg. rig that has started drilling in Mansfield area? Supposedly it took 90 trucks to haul in the rig and its parts. A friend of a friend of ours who is a driller in north sea saw it and said it was the biggest rig he had ever seen. I am trying to get the location

Don't know how much faith you can put in SONRIS.The well in section 17 11n 13w is in the south portion of the section. I thought it was going to be in the north  side.

SONRIS is quite accurate.  At least to the extent of entering what operators report.  Unfortunately the timeliness of transferring data from paper reports to the database has suffered due to a huge volume of development activity created by the shale and a condition of being short staffed due to the budget woes of the state.  There is no HA well in Section 17.  Sure you're not thinking of the HA well permitted in Section 18 to the immediate south?
Cheaspeake has a rig in sec 17 in the southwest corner . It was pemitted in the nw corner.I know it's there I can see it from my house
Sorry Thomas, I wrote the s-t-r down incorrectly.  I was looking at Section 7.  The CHK Pegues 17-11-13H, S/N  242722 has a permitted surface location of 322' From the North Line & 1857' From the West Line in Section 17.  The permitted Planned Bottom Hole Location is 250 From the South Line & 1650' From the West Line of Section 17.  There is no amended permit.  I've reviewed the original permit and plat on SONRIS Classic.  I'm sure the state would be interested if the rig is located on a surface location not covered by the permit.  The Sonris Classic report is not a data entry, it's a scan of the original permit and plat.  If there is a variance, it is CHK's, not SONRIS.

Thomas, I think you need to check again since the well is still listed with the same name.  If the surface location was moved the well name would have been changed.

Nomac #22 Rig, Chesapeake, Pegues 17 #H1 Well, SN 242722, S17-T11N-R13W

My concern about this location is are they drilling north or south. I have not found ammended permit and if they are located in wrong place they could as well be drilling into sec 20

Be proactive.  Call and find out.
