Loutex Soverein has been leasing in the hilly area of lincoln parish. $500/acre for 3 years with .25 royalty

thanks for info

thanks for info

I was offered 350 an acre and 3/16th royalty for a 60 acre tract of land in Lincoln Parish.  Section 3, township 17 north, range 5 west.  The brokerage firm is Mark A O'Neal and associates.  That would not tell me the company they were leasing for.  They said they might be willing to go 500 an acre and 1/5 royalty.  I would love to know what company they were representing so I would know who I am dealing with.  Anybody have any insights on this?

As you know, the Mark O'Neal company works under contract to various operators as a broker.

Don't know the answer to your question, but about 5 years ago Mark was working for CHK. Yet because CHK isn't chasing leases in general due to various reasons, is my best guess (although I could be wrong), then the odds are that it's not CHK in this case.

Recommend that you do your research and keep digging. Some might say to avoid CHK if at all possible, unless you really need the money. Same might also be true of certain go-betweens fronting for whatever operator, too.

Jesse,

Thanks for all your information.  I will keep digging to find out who they may be representing.
