RM how does this compare to first try on same pad SN 251311?
Comparing drilling progress between the two wells is not very news worthy IMO - key is to get the well down while getting a good wellbore that can be effectively tested.
So time and cost are secondary to that.
But with all that being said, we are limited as to how one can compare the two wells as to drilling progress since we are only seeing a few data points as to time vs depth and no daily reports.
I anticipate next week's report will probably be talking about setting intermediate casing.
Understand! Time does not always mean better or worse. Hopefully this one will be good for area and Southwind.
Time will tell - I recommend to all to just sit back and wait to see what happens over time. Close scrutiny will only cause ulcers
NOT MUCH UPDATE, but this just posted on Sonris today "8/20/2019, DRILLING @ 10,372' 8/27/2019, DRILLING @ 14,730'"
New progress update today on SN 251809, but not much there. "8/31/19, SET 9 7/8" INTERMEDIATE CSG @ 14,697.5' W/ 1640 SKS CMT"
Thanks for posting / about the same intermediate casing point as the first well.
The "fun" part of the well can now begin (i.e. more pressure / problems and drilling curve for lateral.
So true! This is where the fun begins. Hopefully with this bigger rig things will go better. We should know more in the next 2-3 weeks.
At least in terms of getting a horizontal well to TD and successfully cased. Completion / frac'ing and well results won't be available for several months after that.
NEW UPDATE ON SN# 251809 as of 9/11/19, "9/10/19, DRILLING CURVE @ 15,670'" Not much but moving along.
Thanks for the update on this well. Things definitely slow down after setting intermediate casing. Pressure testing, perhaps switching out mud system to oil based fluid, lots of trips in and out of the hole as the curve is being drilled, etc.
Expect to see things pick up once curve is drilled and they are in horizontal part of the hole.
Any updates on AUS C RA SU80;CROWELL LM 30 H

Shale drilling and lithium extraction are seemingly distinct activities, but there is a growing connection between the two as the world moves towards cleaner energy solutions. While shale drilling primarily targets…

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
