Can anyone tell me what forest acerage just north of Noble is going for?

I got a $4000/acre offer right before Haynesville play started. Had good stand of timber on it at the time. It was family land we weren't interested in selling.

How many total acres? Was there a house or trailer on the property?

 

Strictly forest. 40 acres. It was a generous offer I believe. But had really good timber & if I remember right, timber prices were up then. It was before the housing crash.

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
