I've been gone awhile and would like to get updated on something.....What is the latest and most used estimate of recoverable gas per acre, or section, in the HS?  Seems that at one time, Chesapeake was estimating around 50Bcf per section.  Does anyone know if this has changed? Thanks for any help on this.

Thank you very much.
Les B---- This give new way to calculate what your mineral value potential is just for the shale formation if you are in sweet spot. Assume as you said 6.5Bcf per 80 acres can be recovered today (who know what future secondary and teritary recovery tech will bring to increase this) even at $4 NG = $26 million gross and if you have 25% royalty lease= $6.5 million to royalty owner= $81,250 per acre just on this one formation. Just consider if you are in multiple formation area--- WOW.  Yes it will take you maybe 40-50 years to receive total payment but that is not considering future inflation and price of NG increases. How to convert to present day discount value don't know who formual best to use to calculte it?????      This is reason to think hard before selling producing minerals.

You have more than answered my questions.  Thank you so much for your patience.  I have no engineering knowledge, and some of this stuff I suspected but I wanted to here it from someone smarter than me.

Thanks and have a blessed day.

The ad's on TV says Exxon/Mobil is doing well with the Haynesville Shale.

Natural Gas being pulled from the ground for the next 100 years .Goodrich Petroleum located in Shreveport,La  has sold out to LLC of Houston,Tx. The numbers I see flying around here I don't think any of them can be trusted because of the way I have been treated with my 3.7 acres. I could put a bullet in there ass and laugh watching them hopping away. My last check for a 3 mo. total was $9.70. And with the price at the pump these days it won't even get me to town and back so I just wait another 3 mos.

They are pulling from under my feet and I'm getting paid nothing

May your tomorrow be brighter than today.
