Post any activity that you know is occurring South of Hwy 103. There has been a lot of land leased South of 103 but not any talk of drilling that I am aware of.

$15/acre for seismograph.
Ours was for $15/ac DaddyO.
I would let them do the seismic work, yes at $15.00 per acre. They will sell their findings to exploration companies or they already have a contract for your area. The findings will or should tell the exploration company if they should drill in your area. If you don't sign up they will just go around you and do the study. They will probably sell you the study but will you be able to read it? I would expect the study will be 400 to 1000 acres. I was told by a seismic man they will be doing all of San Augustine, some sabine, Shelby and Nac. My first study a large company made an offer about a month after the study had concluded. I did not sign because of bonus money. Yes I just got a seismic letter for our 103 area property and for two properties on FM 353. Do what you think is best for your group.
My question Bill is that if they do the seismic and decide not to drill in my area does this lessen my chances of ever getting a lease? Isn't this like laying down your card hand for your opponent to evaluate prior to bidding against you? Do you think they are doing the seismic work more for exploration purposes or more for deciding where to drill? Thanks for your input.
I just leased 862 acres just north of 103 in the WM Clark,EP Richie, and JA Brooks survey, this is just barely north of 103..probably puts me a rocks throw from 103
Can you say who you leased with John. If not that's ok. Thanks
Sure..Cabot Oil and Gas
Thanks John.
Good to see another O&G company leasing down 147. That makes Encana, Devon and Cabot leasing in the 147/103/705 area. May be others.
John,I also have a lease with Cabot in the EP RICHIE Survey for the same acres. The reason for the split of acre of 167.45 and 217.05 is because the richie survey is on both sides of Hwy 147. The net acres you have minerals right on is to to take gross acres x your interest ( 167.45 x .02343750 = 3.9246093 x 1000 you got in bonus money). Ihave 1.45355977 acres in that 167.45 acres after it has been divided by brothers and sisters and so forth.
To get to the Richie turn off of HWY 96 on to HWY 147 and go about 4 or 5 miles SW on 147. We must be related in some manner. My grandparents are Charles Albert and Bessie Elizabeth Lynch and her Father was Henry Lewis, I think that there was some Daltons that we were related to also.
Well, I guess we must be branch water cousins in some way. I come from the McDonalds of Sallie McDonald and William McDonald ( great- grand Parents)..My Grand-father was William Alexander McDonald..Seem like I remember some reference to a Lewis , in an old family bible I found in the estate of my Great Aunt Betty Dee McDonald.had births and marriages and deaths back to 1832..Of course that bible in now in the hands of my evil sibling sister ( LOL), who's name we do not use. memory sometimes is good but not as good as it once was, I'm 62 now and that was back when I was 19. good to meet you , I hope we have an attack of gas in the the near future.
John I think your grandmother sally and my grandmother bessie were sisters, there was a brother named Felix F. Lewis
