Please refer to the following link:

This might help put things in perspective. Cabot has a completed Haynesville Test well near the Katherine Von Goetz #4. Check out the Bank of America presentation on Cabot's website. Check out the County LIne information. Check out the 2009 budget for the Gulf Coast portion. We now have bona fide Haynesville well in San Augustine County. Information is not even near sketchy at this point, but it's coming. BE PATIENT. We should hear something very soon. From what I have gathered, it is not bad news, not at all. It is the end of the year. Yearly leasing budgets are almost depleted if not already. They (any company) want to sign you for peanuts. Things have temporarily changed economically , but the success of this Haynesville well will equalize or undo that. Watch what happens after the announcement of this well.

No activity I could find for Shelby-San Augustine counties in the East Texas Drilling reports this week. Anyone else find anything new?

Hello, Shelly! Just some activity as posted already. Mostly Cabot in SA-Shelby but some others also drilling wells. Good to see you still checking in.

Thanks, ogmladvisor. That makes sense. Of the wells I've watched it's around a year from the date permitted to the time I've seen the completion reprted in the East Texas Drilling reports. Funny thing is, I still have not found any output info on these wells reported to the TRRC.

I don't have that kind of information, not sure it would do us any good if I did. Since the reasons for a permitted well not getting drilled are various, it would be hard to compare one situation to another. More often than not, I would say the wells get drilled once permitted - I was just pointing out the difference between a well that has been permitted to drill, and a well that has actually spud. As mentioned before, let's hope they all get drilled!

ogmladvisor, good point you made about permitted wells vs. completed wells. Can you find how many have been permitted but not started in the last 12-18 months in Shelby or San Augustine county. What is a reasonable time frame from permit to start to completion? Overall, in Texas, is there data on how many wells are permitted but never drilled?
Thanks for your perspective.
