Anyone getting any offers in San Augustine County?

As of last week the following companies were still in San Augustine:
Encana, Devon, Cabot and Crimson. May be some more I don't know about.

Congrats farmbrad! Sounds like it will indeed be a merry Christmas.

Well I just got home this weekend from partnering with Encana in the natural gas business. We signed Friday.....it was a painless experience. Matter of fact, it was kinda numbing. They are pretty active in the 103/1277 area right now (3 signings I know of other than us). The landman said Encana's 1st SA well will start in January. It will be a Haynesville. He made it perfectly clear that that's all they're interested in here. No location was given of course. It's time to kick back & wait for the drafts to clear. Should be a nice Christmas...

I'm just afraid that the big oil/gas guys pulled too much too soon from the big haynesville center that leaves the outer counties in the dust making the little oil/gas guys wondering if they will make profit...

Glad you made it back on line Bill. I read the same statement you did out on the Web concerning SA County. I sure hope he/she is right. I think the O&G Companies are still pretty active in SA County.

Thanks for helping me understand this everybody. I appreciate the responses very much. IWC, I'm southeast of San Augustine, just east of 96, North of 103. Chinquapin. My internet connection has been down so I'm just now getting to read all y'all's information you sent. I hope they're still going to drill with all the econominc difficulty going on. I read somewhere on here that companies are backing out of the Barnett--think it was Exxon. But then other companies are backing out of other projects to focus on Haynesville Shale. Petrohawk was one of those I think. The landman taught me how to go on the Texas Railroad Commission, and I've done that GIS Map Viewer deal, but there's absolutely nothing illustrated, permitted, or anything down in my area, though people seem to be getting leased up. I Googled San Augustine and Haynesville Shale and saw a statement from a source named "Jurassic Exploration" on oilvoice.com that said he/she thought that our area would hold the "motherload" of reserves for this play. If that was the case, then why would everybody be up in Shreveport paying $30,000 an acre? Hard to tell the future, but I sure hope it works out. It would be nice to see some economic growth around here after so long.

See discussions on main page. "Haynesville Formation: what's in a name?" Several people posted links to very informative charts which show the depths for the different formations and the nomencature used in different areas for the same formation. A real good read.

Bill,
Cabot permitted the Katherine Von Goetz back in August. The fields are:
Wildcat to 16000' (primary field) and the Angie (James Lime) to 7018'. This is a vertical well located north of and in between the KVG # 1-H and # 2-H (both Horz.) It is likely that this is an exploratory well to see exactly what is down at those depths.

The Lithium Connection to Shale Drilling
