How many wells are on the Viney Greer and Hiram Edee surveys? We are still UMO w/the Wheeler Unit #1 and the RR shows that it has produced quite a bit of gas. Thanks!!!

I doubt that there is oil under the shale this far south but I can't say for sure.  As far as I know, you can't just view oil wells only on the GIS map.  It may be possible they have a hard copy map that shows only oil wells but you would have to call and ask.

Is there oil under the natural gas in this area?  What are the prospects for extracting it also?  Can I look at only oil wells, not gas, on the RRC maps?  (These questions may already have been addressed elsewhere...).

According to the county records on 4/28/2011, Crimson filed an assignment to Rock Ridge for ORRI on numerous leases that are not drilled and due to expire.  What does this mean for landowners if the leases are due to expire this month?

Mr. Bodine, the information link to unit declarations was one that I beleive came off of drilling info website utilizing their landtracs which is appears to be a cost subscriber site and it was dated back in December.  It did not show the Marco, Polo, or the Henry unit.

I guess to be more clear, I am talking about the EOG shared well with SME you call  the EOG Ironosa Gas Unit #1H
Comment by jffree1 on August 8, 2011 at 8:13

They are unique, Mr. Bodine.  The SME well is just plain Ironosa #1H while the EOG well is Ironosa Gas Unit #1H and the Exco well is Ironosa SU (Shale Unit) #1H.

I don't know where you saw the link to Unit Declarations.  You would have to search the county records for those and you can do that online through countyrecords.com.

I will want to follow this one closely, as I am in the unit for Marco #405-30453 (just now drilling), right next door to Polo #405-30458 and your Ironosa #405-30375.

No problems with SM Energy for me with two other wells in the county, which began producing in November 2010.  Initial payment arrived in April 2011, and was retroactive to beginning of production.  Their folks have always been helpful and accurate.

You may have a wrong mailing address on their records -- they are sometimes slow to update in Denver or Shreveport.

BTW, how can there be more than one "Ironosa #1-H" - I thought these well names were unique, at least within the county.

BTW #2 -- someplace on the GHS web site in recent months there were links given to current Unit Declarations maps for San Augustine County.  Now I can't find them.  Where are they?

yes, that is the one.  It is the SM energy well.
