Two additional new Shelby Co. Permits this week 10/23/09 - Devon & Cabot

1) Devon has been approved by RRC on 10/22 to drill the Whitton 1-H well in the A.Gates survey / Abstract A-251.

This permit is approved for 18,500' and lists targets in three formations a. Center Haynesville b. Stockman Cotton Valley and C. Wildcat - for "exploritory test well only".

Very curious about what they might be looking for underneath the Haynesville and Cotton Valley?????

Also interesting to see this well be targeted for production, as it seems to be the furthest yet approaching into that area of NW Shelby County that had previously been written off.

Cool... maybe this means they will be sending out some data on it soon... I still want to hear what they found during the exploritory phase of the drilling... sure be nice if they find something bigger down below the known shale plays. Thank you!
