Skip or anybody else knowledgeable,  for those of us who are interested but too busy to look up the location of these units would you mind telling us the proximity to towns? I would normally do it but I am swamped.

Me too, Craig.  I deal in section-township-range locations as opposed to local landmarks.  Maybe we'll get a local or two chime in.

The Greenlaw unit is northwest of Kentwood on the Miss/La line extending southwest in Louisiana.  It will probably be accessed along Stateline Road.

The Wilmer unit is just west of the community of Wilmer along Highway 10 due East of Arcola.

I am attempting to attach a photo of the plat of the Wilmer Unit.

Let's see if it works.

Thanks Barbee looks like they are staying in a pretty tight geographical area.

Thanks for the location information, Barbee.  There is a sharper image of the plat for both wells in the links (in blue) that I posted in the discussion title.  The last page of the applications are the plats. The pdf file allows the viewer to enlarge the image to see detail more clearly.  To rotate the image simply right click on it and turn it so that it is right side up.

Ah thanks.  Yes.

The Wilmer unit is at the southeastern edge of Goodrich's existing leasehold.  I believe there are plenty of tracts in that area that have not yet been leased, based on what I am hearing.

Craig, the Wilmer unit is actually a significant step out to the south.  It's the only LA unit that is in a 3S township.

One more jump like that to the south and east and I will start getting excited. Thanks again

Does anyone know if these units were permitted today?

Unless someone was in attendance we will have to wait about thirty days for the Field Order to be entered in the database.  It is relatively rare for the Commissioner to fail to approve a unit application.

Ok, thanks!

Tuscaloosa Trend Sits On Top Of Poorest Neighbourhood For Decades - Yet No Royalties Ever Paid To The Community -- Why??

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.

This area has suffered immense environmental degradation…
