Sonris says BEUSA is waiting on a horz. rig they have done this on other locations. Some it takes a long time?????

Got a notice asking for permission to do seismic readings on my property just inside Doyline township limits. As yet we are unleased. Can someone explain how this works and what they will do--will it disturb livestock?

I have never heard of a cow complaining about seismic activity. I find livestock to be most disturbed when we throw their butt on the grill.

I'm with you on that. If my cows get too disturbed, I will send them to a resort in Cancun after I start getting royalties.

I also got a notice for permission to do a seismic reading on my property. I am also in the Doyline township limits, and the outside city limits. According to the letter they will take full responsbility for any damage done while testing. The representative explained to me that they will dig a small hole in certain spots and put a charge in the ground and connect them with a cord he described as like an extention cord and take the measurement. I suggest you call the number on the letter and ask the rep that name is typed on the letter. I called and asked many questions and he was very informative.

Global Geophysical Services is who is working in the area and they are nice people but I have been waiting on a check from them for months and each week I call it has not come in yet. I would not let them on my property until they have paid.

Thank you for the information Terry and Dena. As for the other comments, (1) I've not seen any financial gain from the "Shale" for my household; (2) My horses are my livelihood therefore are to be protected at all costs; and (3) when people are asking for input, that is what they want, not "compost".

Do not let them drill shot holes on your property, they are about 3 inches in diameter and are a good place for a horse to break it's leg. The buggys they use to drill them are large and if the ground is wet they make a big mess.

Apology accepted Muddigger--thank you! Terry, things like "shot holes" are exactly the kind of thing I need to know about as young horses particularly don't watch where they put their legs!! If there is someplace to hurt yourself--a horse will find it!

It looks like they were just building a yard to store and repair a rig on Pilgrims Rest Rd. I have never seen them take two weeks to stand a rig up. Must be BEUSA.
