Petrohawk Permits 1st Haynesville Shale Well in T17N-R9W (6/3/10)

It looks as though Petrohawk plans to stay active in Webster Parish and are moving northeast with this first Haynesville Shale well permit in the township. The surface location is in Section 24 but the horizontal lateral will be drilled in Section 13.

This is near Mim's store & drilling into the section with the old Masonic Lodge. Glad to see some action in Webster Parish.

Tuscaloosa Trend Sits On Top Of Poorest Neighbourhood For Decades - Yet No Royalties Ever Paid To The Community -- Why??

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
