Two dogs said on another thread that indigo was leasing around tunks cypress Inn and the kincade lake area also.  They are trying to be the early bird that gets the worm.  I don't know much about them but its business and I wonder if they might be trying to gain acreage and flip it to another company for a profit.  I just don't think they could have enough capital to drill that much that quickly.

heard the letters are from Indigo Minerals (http://www.indigominerals.com/about.html)

If you read here you will see that they manage all of Roy O. Martin properties.

thank you lbr2.  my sister and i are coexcutors of 40 acres.  i think a distant cousin retains 1/16 but has never paid taxes to us.  i will do a title search.  there was a lease back in the 80's, but there has never been drilling.  also, a pipeline runs thru the property.  does the pipeline have mineral rts?

Blackjack,  how many acres do you have?   Do you have brothers or sisters living?  Are either of your parents living?  If the answer is no to all of the above you may have sole interest in the land.  If yes you may have undivided interest in the land.   You may have to hire a lawyer to do a title search to find out.  Generally speaking,  if there has ben NO leases that have been drilled on in the last 10 years you probably have the mineral rights. Only a title search will tell you this.

first..i am senior citizen and don't really know how to lead a blog group. i thought of this as a bulletin board.  i have been a member for over 2 years. i just retired from cal/teacher and move back to cenla. but i'm as excited as all heck.

thank you for the info. simpson is 26 miles from my mcnutt.  letters have gone to many in mcnutt area w/ the $150/ac. i heard lots of people have already signed and i also think that is way lowball.  also heard 1/6 roayalty when 1/4 is what we want.

this land has been in family for 150yrs, how do i check to see that i still own mineral rights?

I heard that drilling was already going on around the Clifton area.  I also talked to a school bus driver from simpson just tonight who said he had been contacted two times wanting to lease his property for $125.00/acre- 20%  after well cost was recovered.  Just as in the early days of the Haynesville they are low-balling and trying to get in early before people know what is really going on.
