Number of rigs in the Fayetteville declined by 33%. Second highest decline, only exceeded by the Arkoma Woodford which was down 75%.

Decrease in activity directly tied to gas prices IMO. Companies hopefully have acreage HBP and can "bank" the gas reserves for future drilling / production (and hopefully higher prices)

As an update.... June 2014The rig count may improve as I see higher prices appears to have jarred Billiton and XTO off the sidelines and both appear to have more wells to drill.
