I am dealing on this lease for 4 people, three are elderly and really would like the money now, as we signed a 5 year lease and the landman told me he could not change this to 3 year lease with 2 year option. He also told me I could not get a check, only a 45 day draft. So I really don't know what to do. I am going to Marshall tomorrow to see for myself that the lease has been recorded and when. I live in Burleson, but one of the heirs lives in Marshall, and he is 84 years old, so a 5 year lease and hoping to get royalties is not likely. Thank you for this information. We are hoping for an offer as someone in our same survey has had an offer of $5,000 per acre, but we have not been contacted. Don't know if we are in Haynesville or Bossier Shale.
