"I should know the answer to this, but are operators now required to properly P&A their wells, once production ends? Seems like they could be required to post a bond to secure the cost of the State doing it should the company cease to exist…"
"I read a very interesting article last week regarding Mexico's plans for LNG plants on its West Coast. According to the article, Mexico now has an impressive pipeline capacity to import gas from the US. As a practical matter, CA, OR…"
"I don't try to keep up with projects such as those listed above, but I do read articles published about the overall regulatory processes required for new pipelines. The new Administration's 3 key federal agencies have all…"
"OLDDOG - I think your characterization is overly harsh, but it doesn’t matter. Their job is little different than real estate investors who are looking down the pike and see what’s coming, and they look for landowners in the area…"
"Based on my own experience, some of the mineral buyers seem to have inside information about future drilling plans rather than waiting on "public information". Perhaps I'm overly suspicious, but more than once I've had…"
"well, the Louisiana Department of Conservation has been requiring gas wells to be "unitized" for many decades. This predates the discovery of the Haynesville Shale formation and goes back to at least the 1970's perhaps…"
"This issue is far more complicated than the article acknowledges. There is an entire industry group of operators who buy old marginal wells from larger operators, for which the economics of operating a marginal well (or field) no longer make…"
"even the newer, not fully proven modular nuclear reactors wouldn't be producing power for several years, if Europe started today. I don't know what it would take, and how much time it would take, for Germany to try and bring its…"
Steve, I will be meeting with the editor of the Shreveport newspaper to discuss the possibility of a series of articles highlighting mineral owner concerns. I am considering including the Comstock units with multiple expired well permits. It would be helpful if I could ask you a few basic questions. If you are willing to help, please email me at email@example.com
Steve, I fully agree with your reply in the recent Dr. Fine/Robert Johnson discussion. I would like to point out that Robert Johnson is not posting out of interest in a discussion but specifically to increase the "web presence" of Dr. Fine. I don't know if he gets paid or not but the fact that he never makes a reply in these discussion threads and "favorites" each one indicates that he is just pumping up the listing of entries for anyone searching Dr. Fine on the Internet. Keith and I have discussed it and doing so isn't against the site rules and occasionally there is one or more members who do reply so Robert has not been banned from posting to GHS. I'm not a big fan of this kind of activity but it is common on the web.
Thanks for the compliment....... it's wonders what makeup and good lighting can do!!!!!!....... I'm married to Marshal Wayne Whatley from Pineville,La. We've been married for 22 years. My first husband was Willie Junkin from Delhi, La. Willie and I divorced in 1979, and Wayne and I were married in 1988.
Good hearing from you Steve. Hope things are well. I guess I look at this as lagniappe. If it comes, it comes. Just a little extra. But if it doesn't, I'm okay. What part of California. I spent my Navy time in San Diego.
Hello! I hope the site is a place for to learn, network and contribute. My name is Keith and I started the site in June of 2008 to open up lines of communication between landowners. We now have over 10,000 members.
As exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More
