Where is everyone working?

I am a field landman for a small oil and gas company out of Lafayette Louisiana, well needless to say work has been getting extremely slow the last few months. I have been searching for employment but have had no success. It seems as though no one is hiring, but I keep reading of all the activity going on in the Haynesville Shale.
