Wait for the map of the US to load.
Dragg a box on the map to zoom in. it does not show sections but will show townships and rows. Really helps when looking at the drilling permit maps.
I am from south Desoto and all the large landowners down here have mostly sighned with Encana. I haven't heard of any future drilling.
Do you know what Encana has been offering in south Desoto? I'm just wondering how it compares to what they've been offering in northern Natchitoches?
My friend got 3000.00/acre down in the Pelican area, I dont know the royalty %. My Dad is in the oil & gas biz and he has large mineral leases in Elm Grove, Sligo, South Desoto, Caspiana, Benson, and Northern Natchitoches. He told me the first offers that he recieved from Encana was 3000.00/acre then it went to 7500.00 within a week !!! He refused. They are offering different amounts on different leases. The last I talked to him they were offering him 10,000.00/acre,(not sure of royalty %) He has yet to sign. He's been in the biz 40 years and knows whats going on. He told me that the royalty checks could be coming to family for the next 20-50 years. So I know he will wait them out and get their top offer. As soon as I know more I will post. Thanks
Did you Dad sign yet with Encana. our land is in pelican and they offered us 9,500 per acre today. I want to counter but I don't want to force pool and lose any bonus. Landman offering for Encana. I want to counter with $20k and see what they come back with.
Will that scare them off? They claim we are the last 1/2 of 80 acres they need to make a fully leased unit, so I think they should be willing to go much higher. The Landman must want the commission? He said the other 640 acres were purchased real cheap 2-3 years ago, tried to make it sound like getting 9,500 was a very good deal.
He claimed there was producing well within 2/10ths of a mile from our property (or 6/10ths can't remember).
Am I dreaming they would go higher.
If I were you I would counter offer because That is their first offer. I want you to go to sonris lite and click on "lease sale and tract history" choose the date 6-11-08. scroll down to Red River parish and look at what Manna Aquisitions LLC paid per acre in Red River parish. $17,179.00 in one area and $13,179.00 in another. My dad hasn't signed yet the last I heard they were negotiating around $15,000.00. Did the man tell you what well he was refering to? If I were you I would look it up on the sonris site and find out, could be helpful to you. Where is your land sec, town, range? If I wre you i would go and talk to your neighboring landowners and see what they say. Good luck to you hope you get what you want for your property!!
VSC - Do you happen to know the landman's name at Encana? I have a quick question for him about the other side of Toledo Bend. Many thanks.

Me, I'm in the Oxford Field for about the same $. I'm also looking for maps.
Try the site below it has the best maps I have found so far:
-Click on property maps top right corner
-Put in state and parish, then search
-Zoom in on destination from there
