Question why did Petrohawk's 11-09 presentation not show this area for Bossier?
I always take into account that these presentations are always targeted to each individual companies potential investors so their is as much "spin" involved as actual science.

PHK does seem to have more acreage leased upwards into Rusk County so it would make sense for their maps to trend further Northward and leave out the acreage in Nagodoches that is mostly held by EOG and others.

Hopefully BOTH maps prove to be true in the long run?
Petrohawk in JV partner in all the EOG Haynesville/Bossier wells with a BIG ami with them. Petrohawk drilling horizontal Deep test in Mora 827 now. I just wonder if they do that to keep lease prices down?
That could seem to make sense as well.
EOG investor presentation 11-09 did not make 2 maps..just 1...and called it all Haynesville..including the "several wells with average IP ~15MMCF/day" and they said "10 BCF/well" in New core area in Nac.
It would be interesting to go back and look at some of the other EOG deep well permits for Pop Pop, Gammage, etc. Wonderin' if those listed multiple target formations or just the one formation like the above Hassell wells versus Devon
's Barton permit which is listing 4 target formations.
nope--EOG planned for their wells to be deep tests

Hassell #3H-CARTHAGE, NORTH (BOSSIER SHALE)-[FILER Oct 2, 2009 9:27 AM]: Request administrative approval; this well will not be produced concurrently with the No. 2H Well;

Hassell #2H
CARTHAGE, NORTH (BOSSIER SHALE)

Pop-Pop #1h permit filed as "wildcat"..one of the Bossier completions in press release at ~15MMCF/day
see comment below
It looks like they are also planning a deep test vertical well but complete in MARTINSVILLE (TRAVIS PEAK)-drill to 14,000' in Cordova 20--Erwin #1
Field Name Field Number Permit Type
WILDCAT 00012001 (Oil/Gas)
MARTINSVILLE (TRAVIS PEAK) 57814700 (Gas)
Goodrich always has great maps. Thanks.
The Hassell #2h & 3h both have rigs on them as of 12/5/09. Serious rigs. The #2h was setting surface casing 12/4. The #3h was stood up 12-4/12-5 and is the biggest rig I've seen, nearly 4 stories to the platform. EOG has built a huge man-made lake to gather water for the eventual frac jobs. Probably 4-5 ac lake 20-30 ft deep. They are serious about these wells.

The website was the brainchild of Keith Mauck, a landowner and entrepreneur who recognized a pressing need: landowners in the region had little access to…
