Chesapeake's HA well permits in Sections 2 & 6 along with previous permits in 5,7 & 8 of 16N - 14W represent some of the most urban locations to date. Along with Petrohawk's SE Shreveport/SW Bossier wells, do these wells herald the beginning of urban development? And if so, does anyone think we should start a specific group to track and discuss inner-city operations?
Skip - I'm not really sure whether we have enough interest/participation from those with urban concerns. But that idea might fly and take off after awhile. Concerns are different from rural, open areas and population density plays a role, too. Seems to me that issues from Barnette operations arise with respect to urban & small town proximity.

I'm all for it, give it a try. 80)
I think it needs more interest than just the two of us.
Well, don't the squirrels count? lol 80)
No.
pssstttt, I'll just say this then I'll head back to the corral ... overnight developments.

Word is the critters on your street are organizing a grassroots campaign ... serving beverages steeped in hot water & acorns. Rethink your position about who/what would be eligible to join such a group.

I guess this answers the question of whether or not Samson knows what they are doing with HA wells.
Highwayman. The Wood 30H #1 is the best Samson Contour well to date that I am aware of and a huge improvement over their previous completions. I'd like to see a few more before declaring SC a capable HA driller considering their previous track record in the Play. One well ain't enough. And the question still remains concerning their large number of HA drilling units and so few wells.
Yes, Petrohawk is having public hearing in Baton Rouge Jan 19. 17N-13W S37 by Red River.
They are leasing in sec. 34 and Chesapeake is leasing in (what is not HBP) in 16n-13W s 3.
So it might be rural but the city is mixed in all of this area.
James. I suspect these first wells will have a significant impact on the pace of urban drilling. With the added expense and complications of developing urban leasehold, IMO these need to be better than average HA horizontal wells.
It also seems that there are several sections over in the SW "fringe" of the city, mostly T16N in the vicinity of ranges like 14W. These are areas that have suburban neighborhoods, densly populated, small acreage. Section 34 T17N R13W is very densly populated. It's "put the toe in to test the water" time, IMO.

Who knows, time will tell, maybe we'll need an Urban group here.
