Has anyone heard of a new well being proposed off Pines Road next to or behind Brookshires?   I've heard some talk a while back and just noticed some markers going up on the land.  It looks like some surveying has been done.

About a week ago, I heard some racket (like heavy equipment running) and saw some bright lights back there. Haven't seen anything since then though. Been wondering what they were up to myself.
Interesting. Keep us posted of any activity in the area. I have some land in the area as well as around Cross Lake that is under lease.
Tim - If you post an S-T-R for that area, someone may be able to help better. Or, if you do know, have you tried using SONRIS to look up activity? If a well is permitted for that section, it should show up there.

Also, mineral owners nearby would have received notice. That area is pretty heavily commercial, but there is some residential. If those homeowners own mineral rights, and they're within/near a permitted well section or unit, I would think they would have received legal notification from an operator.

Actually it's mostly wooded on that side of Jefferson Paige Rd. west of Pines Rd.
I believe that would be sec 11-T17n-R15w
I haven't noticed anything on sonris
They did just recently unitize that section though.
I live in the next section and did get letters about that but nothing about a well.
Tonight those lights looked like they were back. Lights like one would see at some kind of ball park.
They would have received notice of a unit, but not of a permit. Well permits do not require notification, they are public record, show up on SONRIS almost immediatly after approval, and are even posted in the Shreveport Times on Sundays.
Could they be setting up a drilling site or something?
Thank you, Baron, for the correction/clarification to what I stated with regards to receiving notice of a unit but not receiving notice of a permit. I'm still way behind some of you in experience, and it's good to know some will gladly give assistance as you do.

Since this well site is in and behind Brookshires, could someone pick my up a six pack and some pork cracklins'? It would be much appreciated.
Sonris shows a permit on Jon Rd. off of Jefferson Paige rd. serial number 240521
hoop there it is, lol
David, so it would be the following Samson well?

Samson, Brown 3 #H1 Well, Serial #240521, S3-T17N-R15W
Don't think that is it. The lights were somewhere behind Brookshires (Brookshire's parking lot lights weren't as high up as those that I can see through the trees). From where I saw them, it would be in sec. 11.
There are tall surveyor stakes running through the property adjacent (pasture behind) mine that would line up or aim towards where I saw that activity. I wonder if they aren't working on a pipeline? I never noticed a drive or road off Jefferson Paige that would lead to those lights I saw. The only other path to their site would be through Western Hills neighborhood and I doubt if they'd do that. If it's some sort of pipeline, maybe they wouldn't need a driveway from either but are getting there coming from the north down their right of way..
Be interesting to know what's going on.
