does anyone have current information on the NACO-TRAWICK gas unit--specifically #6?  It is operated by Exxon Mobil....

Are you asking about Gas Unit #6 or about a well #6? If it is well #6 we would need the Gas Unit # to go with it, please, because Exxon Mobil has lots of #6 wells and you need the unit # to find the right one.
It is unit #6--thank you!
Trawick Gas Unit 6, in the Zimri Bennett survey, A-9 and Luis Sanchez survey, A-50 about 5 miles southeast of Cushing... the last permit was in 2006 so there doesn't appear to be much going on in that unit at the moment.
Kaki,
Trawick Gas Unit 5 well #4 completed in 1982 encountered the Bossier Shale but that well was completed and producing in the Travis Peak. That gas unit is also situated in the Zimri Bennett Survey, A-9. At that time (1982) the Bossier was considered technologically non-commercial. With the development of horizontal drilling and hydraulic fraccing, things have changed quite a bit. It's not a leap of faith to speculate that T.G.U. 6 also overlays the Bossier as well.

ExxonMobil isn't noted for moving particularly fast in developing acreage HPD however. Gas prices are going to have to increase before that outfit will get in a hurry. They'd rather be chasing oil concessions with thug dictators in Timbuktu than developing American resources. One reason I hated to see them grab XTO. the Trawick Gas Field was originally developed by the great but gone, Humble Oil and Refining Co. which Exxon took over about 50 years ago.

Good luck though.
COG has JV with XOM in the Trawick and has drilled several shale vertical wells into the bossier shale. COG reported one vertical well that IP >3mmcfd in the bossier shale about 2 years ago.
There isn't any question that there is some shale potential in the Trawick field, IMO. The only question is when will they get around to it? The acreage is mostly HBP and they are not under any pressure to drill at this time and with gas price so low, I wouldn't expect them to. It would be smarter to just leave that gas in the ground until things improve.
jffreel 1--that is reason the two vertical COG shale wells in the Trawick are shut-in. After all the expensive leases left in the shale in Texas, La, Ark,Olk, and Pa, etc will be drilled to HBP. Activity will drop to supply=demand only at stable price can support the necessary drilling only. like OPEC Cartel for oil we may see Cartel for NG to stabilize prices that will be ok with me.

The Lithium Connection to Shale Drilling

Shale drilling and lithium extraction are seemingly distinct activities, but there is a growing connection between the two as the world moves towards cleaner energy solutions. While shale drilling primarily targets…
