1) Be very careful. A lot of the malware (spyware, viruses, etc.) tries to pretend to be legitimate security programs these days. They'll pop up warnings and eventually will try to get you to click on a link or run some program "to fix a problem". When you click the link, that's what infects your computer.

2) Is it really 173-244-198-132 or does it use periods? i.e. 173.244.198.132?

3) Is there any indication which program is generating this message? i.e. Windows defender, malwarebytes, norton antivirus, etc.? Is the message in a window, what is the title of the window, etc.?

4) Does this happen every time or only on certain web pages?

Mac Davis--yes correct should be 173.244.198.132 yes this only happens on certain but not all websites. This program that was recommended by my IT team is from Malwarebytes Corporation and along with Eset Nod 32 anti-virus plus protection from my ISP Suddenlink Cable is all I need to protect my PC per my IT expert. I agree there all types of programs that try to sell you some "fix" or "finallyfast" etc to clean you PC and my IT said to stay away and save your money. What does your IT people tell you. Yes it appears most spyware attack windows pc and not Mac because they are more window PC than Mac out there.

all of these have settings and or you can allow a "trusted" website. IMHO- your beefed up security is just ultra sensitive and is probably tripping up over the cookies on this website. tracking, primarily.
next time i buy, i am going to buy a mac. it's a no brainer.

I can three comparable PC's for the extortion prices charged for a Mac. The trouble is not the computer but with the program he has installed.

i mostly build and maintain pc's for a living, and you said a mouthful.

personally i would advise that internet explorer has been crap for years now, i couldn't say for sure about the latest version because i have no reason to stop using firefox.

I have built all my computers for the last 10 years. None of them have been cheap, I could have bought a Mac much cheaper. I can buy a computer at Sams for less money than one of my video cards.

i tend to specialize in overclocked gaming rigs, most of the machines i put together come in under a grand without the monitor.

Jack Blake recently got a new computer. Bought from Dell. Cheapest he ever bought and has 20" flatscreen, Pentium, Windows 7, studio cpu and only like $750.00. It is lightning fast cried Jack!!!!!!!! Fastest pc Jack has ever used.
And GHS website does not make any alarms go off.
Jack would like spellcheck on GHS. Like on MS email and word.

I run both Windows and Mac. I have a laptop PC and a desktop iMac. On the iMac I run VMWare Fusion, which allows me to run Windows XP/7. I have been slowly moving away from the Windows OS to the Mac OS and have really not missed Windows.

While I may still use some Windows software, as I have invested quite a bit f money in software, I find Macs much easier to use, much more stable, etc. That alone is worth the price differential to me, as it is a far more stable platform.

Does a Mac cost more? Yes. But it is a bit like buying a quality car. And tech support, what little it is needed, is simply outstanding from Apple.

most of the things i have to fix on the average joe's computer come down to user error, it ain't rocket surgury, but there is a minimum knowledge required for safe continual operation, especially for those with certain... surfing and data acquisition habits.

i found windows xp to be a fine platform, probably microsoft's best, although i have recently started working with windows 7 and like it ok so far. vista was a special punishment for something i did wrong in a former life.

don't get me wrong, apple is an amazing company, and a case study in branding... but in my humble opinion, their products verge on equal parts fashion/status symbol/functionality, and you pay a pretty fair premium for the privilege of owning them.

I run 64 bit Vista and have never had a problem with it other than it not being able to run some older programs. I like the way Windows 7 is able to go into an XP mode. I just started running Windows 7 on one of my computers mainly because we use Adobe Creative Suites 2 on that one and it will only work with XP.
