If you sign a standard 3year/2year option lease are you due another bonus at the end of the 3 years. If so doses this also apply if you are receiving royalties at that point? Also, should the lease amount be included in the lease? I have seen leases that showed release amount for $1 per acre and was told that is standard procedure as the leases become public record after they are filed. I currently have been working on signing a lease on 18 acres in Bienville parish with a bonus of $12k per acre. However, the landman has lost my paperwork twice.

You get paid for the extension. Be careful of the wording I saw a lease where the people had been paid a bonus of $500 per acre but the extension would be executed by payment of $500. It didn't say per acre.
