It's interesting to me to read about the frustration of dealing with the idiots at BP.

This is exactly the kind of stuff I'm talking about in terms of BP being too stupid and bureaucratic to allow them to keep operating.

That is some sad stuff.
this man has done a terrible thing of his own free will, i could wax loquacious but in short i have to give bp a bit of a pass on this incident.

i hope his wife and children find solace where they may, perhaps god has a plan.
I don't know if I would give BP a pass on anything until I knew all the facts of the story. I need to wax my go-cart, screw Loquacious. Ain't he from Beaumont?
naw that's re re's cousin from monroe

i hear ya, i'm just sayin bp didn't pull the trigger on him.
No, but the man has been self employed fishing for 25 years and wasn't used to being told what to do. Give re re's cousin a wax job and forget about Beaumont, that was in a younger life. BP didn't pull the trigger but they may well have to account for their actions
i understand, and i'm not saying the family shouldn't sue the hell out of bp in civil court, actually they probably should. suicide is a very touchy issue with me, personally i'm far too egotistical but i've known a few that threatened to do it and one who actually did. it's never that bad, ever. especially not when you have a family relying on you and friends that care. it's been almost 20 years now, the memories fade but they never go away.

as to why i think a court of law is the right place to decide, any arbitrary decision to help the family could actually be the last bit of rationalization other unstable persons might use to justify carrying out what's in their mind.

at the risk of sounding like a public service announcement, if anyone reading this has, or even knows someone else who has, these types of thoughts, get help. do not let shame rob your loved ones of your presence, talk to a father, mother, friend, pastor, shrink, social worker, flying nun, whatever it takes.
I mention it as another example of BP bureaucracy and stupidity.

I wouldn't necessarily say BP gets any legal liability for the suicide, but Ken Feinberg, Obama, and company might decide that his survivors deserve a cut of the slush fund.
suicide is permanent solution to a short term problem. I am sure there is more to this man and family's story that general public will never know about. At least the media did not blame it on GWB.
Nobody ever knows what another person is really thinking or how they perceive what's going on around them. It may be that this tragedy triggered this action but it's not out of the realm of possibility that it had little to do with the outcome.

It's really, really sad but we never know what inner demons other people have to deal with or to what end they'll go to to find peace. I do believe depression can be so overwhelming that a person honestly loses touch with reality to the point where they can't see any other options.
lethalininjection if you have this diagnosis I pray you under a good doctors care because this is a very treatable disease and no reason to suffer. Good family support and understanding along with God in you heart for strength everyday will make life good and full of enjoyment.
lethalinjection---Very Happy to hear that because your user name had me worried---maybe think about changing it to "lifeisgood"
I am about to read up about this issue...I had an great uncle who saw all his friends die at Normandy DdAY... made it back to TX fell in a bat of chemicals... disabled...later watched a documentary of Dday .....shot himself in the head... very very sad.
