There is a well(spud) going in at Dawson Acres off Jefferson-Paige Rd the end of July or the beginning of Aug. Are there any of you in that area besides me ? I'm in contact with a landman with Sampson but am not leased as yet....he hasn't even approched me with a lease proposition yet. Was wondering about anyone else that could be associated with that well. My son and I are really grateful for this site and all the wonderful education we are gleening from it. Thank you.

Patricia, we are further out end of South Lakeshore and then up North about a mile. And offer was accepted that was larger than what you have posted. Though, it was a major player, not Sampson, who I am not really familiar. Friend me and I will give you details.

I don't want to ruin any deals in the works.
i live on jolly napier and we lease two years ago with chesapeake and its a three lease.only on more year to go. but i think there going to do something soon.section 18 n 15w 33
Ahh...you are close. Is it the Sampson well that they leased you on or another? If you leased 2 years ago you probably got one of those lovely bonuses. Do you mind sharing what they gave you? My former daughter-in-law south of I-20 leased a couple of years ago and got $25,000. an acre , she has two acres. She is a part of that Assembly of God school area and a different well of course. I have 2 acres and was offered $3000. and acre the last time we talked to a landman. I just talked to a landman from South La who has another offer but I put my son in charge of talking to these guys so I'll keep you posted on what he has to offer this time. As a side note...I just love the Jolly Napier area. I wanted a place on that road but at the time there was nothing for sell. I'll keep you posted on what this gentleman has to say.
we got 15000 a acer.with a no cost drilling. but a lot of people lease up for 300 to350 that had a lot of land. but there was a lot us around here that got the 15000. i got 2.486 acre. we let burt bowers handle it he is a lawer that live on jolly nappier
Thank you for this information. I had contacted Burt Bowers last year but there wasn't any activity in my immediate area so we didn't persue his help at that time. I will give him a call this morning to see if he is taking clients in my area. I really don't expect as much as you guys got a few years ago ,at least that's the gest of what I am reading on this site. The landman that has contacted us is from Sampson and has gone from a $1000. an acre to $3000. and we are suppose to talk to him again today and I think he will be going up a bit but that's to be seen. We have educated ourselves in what to insist on in a lease such as no cost drilling but none the less it would be wise to use an attorney. What we were told is that the bounus would be for one year and if the well is bad we keep the money without further obligation to that well which is reasonable in that we wouldn't get anything if the well is bad. I have my doubts as to whether there is a probability of this being a bad well looking at the maps and knowing there are two wells I know of in that area. Dr Bickem (spelling?)has a well on South Lakeshore Dr and there is another well near the Rose Center, don't know the name of that well. On the other hand Dr Bickem's house is across the creek from my place and he doesn't have a well on that land sooooo....who knows? It's going to be a interesting summer and fall I think.
there no bad well in the shell. the two well around here are good well about 11 mill. a day its not great as a little south of here but 11 is good.so do you have a well number on the well that going to be drilling in dawson creek/.
JW three years ago a 2 million a day was a great well.
Well, this is very encouraging. I'll get the number of the well and give it to you later. Thanks for the info.
As I said below ,this is very encouraging. I'll get the number of the well and give that to you later...I don't have that info right here. Tried to contact Burt Bowers the attorney who handled the negotiations for the folks on Jolly-Napier but he has an answering machine and hasn't called me back yet. Do you guys know of any other attorney handling negotiations around there?
Patricia, this is the well you are discussing: 241542 HA RA SUY;MAYFIELD 9 H
Thank you Mr Peel. Ihope you are having success in this La gold rush.
As a point of interest to all who are following these discussions Burt Bowers did contact me and I must say he is every bit as nice as those who recommended him to me described. He was knowledgable andsympathetic to what we as landowners are going through, he also has land in the area. If you are looking for legal assistance I would in turn recommend him to you.
so is he going to help you? are is going to let you go
