A few years ago (5-12 years?) there used to be some type of well head with burning gas at the intersection of highway 392 and highway 191 (about 1/2 mile north of Toledo Bend dam). Does anyone know what this was? I don't know when it was removed.

It is an Austin Chalk well that was spudded on 2-3-1997 and is still producing. Swift Energy is the operator.
Two Dogs, I live very near that well and never see any movement coming or going from that site. Often newcomers to the area would call it in as a woods fire when the flare was going. At that time Sonat was making offers in this area and offering leases. The lease we received was 11 years ago.
