the south arkansas horizontal well results

deltic stock is going nuts i guess because they have such a huge

mineral interest in the brown dense area and the leasing companies

are still going full bore so i would conclude that the well is a smoker.

anyone else have any insight?

LA. DNR Preliminary and Final Completion Report forms have a section for the operator to provide the depths to the top of significant formations penetrated.  Some list a few, some quite a few and some none if no log was taken.  As to tasting the formations, well I don't even care to go there.  LOL!

A good geologist will taste the core samples..... I have also seen then suck on the rock to test porosity.

Grain size can be estimated by trying to force them through your two front teeth, but first one would need to get their teeth calibrated to API Standards... haha. Really experienced geologist know how small grains have to be to fit between their teeth, allowing them to quickly identify between clays, silts, and sands - it just depends on the size of the gap...

 

A good mud engineer can taste the mud and within an acceptable margin of error, tell you what the chlorides content is...

I don't think anyone knows at this point for the reasons I give above.  The State Line Trend includes a lot of shallower historic SMK E&P.  When focusing on the Brown Dense, depth may be critical.  Especially if energy companies are only interested in the trend as an oil and/or liquids prospect.

Is the Anderson that was backing the Brammer well the same Anderson Energy Exploration Company LLC. that owns a major portion of the Grayson Field in the Smackover Lime Unit? Supposedly this field is 25% of the oil and gas in South Arkansas. It was unitized in 1995 but it is still a great producer and they brought another well online sometime last year. This unit encompasses parts of sections 26, 27, 28, 33, 34, and 35 in Township 16 South Range 21 West

Different companies but same family.  At least some members.  Just to be clear, Anderson is the operator and Brammer is the "contract" operator of these wells.  Anderson hires Brammer to manage the drilling but Anderson is the majority "owner" of the wells.  Anderson decides where, when and how to drill.

The March 25 rig report does not show a rig assigned to the well.
