Who knows.  Maybe you could contact your landman and see if they have any plans for those leases.  Not sure if they would tell you or not but it might be worth a try.

Interesting timing. Devon just applied today for a permit east of San Augustine.

I own leased interests in the Sigler survey east of San Augustine.  Is that what Devon permitted?  They told me that they were planning drilling this year on Sigler as they have had success in that area.

Mark, the Devon well is in P. A. Sublett, A-44.  The RRC GIS map is not working tonight so I can't look to see where the Sigler survey is located.

How much is Encanta paying now on leases?  What do you mean "going nuts?"

I haven't heard anything recently with Encana, but in mid-2010 they were paying about $1500-$2,000/acre.

 

By going nuts, I just mean that they are suddenly getting permits faster than any other company in San Augustine. Most of their SA wells have come in very strong, so I'm wondering if they may focus more on SA and less on Louisiana.
