Add in the 8,371# Casing Pressure and I'd say yes, it is an economic well. It's also within the 6bcf contour of Petrohawk's EUR Core Map.

Would this well make the rest of the surrounding area be more appealing for further interest in drilling? Say, like s33/18n/10w?

Catfish, here is a summary of the well test information. The well was completed with 14 frac stages and would have tested at a rate of 15 - 20 MMcfd on a more standard choke size. The well had 4&1/2 inch production casing which is smaller than usual for Petrohawk wells.

Petrohawk, Taliaferro 28 #H1 Well, Serial #240540, S33(28)-T17N-R10W, Webster Parish, 7353 Mcfd, 14/64" Choke, 8371 psi Flowing Pressure

Basically all areas of the Haynesville Shale currently being drilled in Louisiana are economic at today's prices. The pace of development is driven by the need to hold leases and company earnings growth objectives.

Les what is the major diffrence between this well and the conger well in 15/18/12? Is it the casing pressure? Someone said it would have tested at 10 to 12 mcfd with a standard choke.

Catfish, yes the flowing pressure was much higher on the Taliaferro well. Also the Conger well had only 11 frac stages. By the way the term casing pressure doesn't really convey the total story since it is actually flowing casing pressure. Because operators intially test most Haynesville Shale wells before installing production tubing, the well is produced up the production casing. The standard forms aren't set up to handle this.

Les or Skip,

Is the Taliaferro well actually in section 33 or in section 28?   If it is in section 28 do you know if there are any producing wells in S33-T17N-R10W?  Thanks

Surface location in Section 33, Bottom Hole Location in Section 28.  The wellbore is perforated in Section 28 and mineral interests of record in that section receive the royalties.

Catfish, T18N-R12W looks reasonably decent based on the Conger well results but Chesapeake will have the final say on that area.
