Info.

 

 Anyone know of any information on the well that just started drilling on Hwy 353? It is a Trinidad #107 Rig, Chesapeake, Hatch GU SAG #H Well SN 713762. They are saying it is san Augustine, but it actually in Shelby County.

Robert, where did you find that information, please?  I suspect that it is out of date.

Chesapeake has finished drilling the Hatch GU SAG #1H, B. B. Pickard Survey, A-493, in San Augustine County, and Trinidad rig 107 just spud the Durham GU SLB #1H, John Buckley Survey, A-41, in Shelby County, on 7-14-11.

 I live not a 1/4 mile from it. It is in the John Buckley Survey A-41. I got the information on this web-site and it says San Augustine. I live in Shelby and so is that rig. I am just trying to find out if I am in the pool as that is the survey I am in.

Robert, you can call the appraisal district and ask them for a tract level shot of their map.  If you own the surface, or know who does or can otherwise locate the tract on the ground, they should be able to pull it up on the computer and print a copy.  If you are in the county it may be easier to just go see them because there is usually a small fee required.

When the drill bit first touches the earth,  the well is said to be "spud".  Spud date is first day of actual drilling operations.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but aren't the past tense and past participle of spud written as "spudded". At least this is the way I have always seen it before.
