Does anyone have any updates to share about Anadarko activities near Carthage? i recall some "stirrings" a while back... but it has been sort of silent lately. thanks

Permalink Reply by Glenn Hays on I just joined the group. I know that Anadarko is drilling in CGU 17, and supposed to be in CGU 19 soon. These are all Haynesville shale. Because of the small unit size that are crossing unit boundaries, which necessitated Production Sharing Agreements to be used across those units. I first heard about this early in 2011. I do not have a direct source concerning the drilling activity. I have talked with a landowner near the drill pads. Wish I had more. Please comment back if you hear anything. Thanks.
In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of) nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
This area has suffered immense environmental degradation…
